Speed Match NYC is a website that helps busy New York voters quickly discover which candidates align with their values in the 2025 New York City Mayoral Election.

Speed Match NYC is a website that helps busy New York voters quickly discover which candidates align with their values in the 2025 New York City Mayoral Election.
This project originated from founder Yi’s graduate thesis, which explored voter behavior through the lens of design. Following extensive academic research and user testing, Yi partnered with the 1 Thing team to transform the concept into a real-world product. Together, the team developed the project’s visual identity, user experience, and technical implementation, culminating in its public launch in October 2025.
To further amplify civic engagement, particularly in smaller, local elections—the team is currently working on extending the platform into a reusable, open package that local organizations can easily adapt for their own election initiatives.
